African Dwarf Frog Care Guide

01. Habitat

A 10-gallon tank per pair of frogs is ideal. Use a sponge filter, maintain water temps between 72–78°F, and include live or soft artificial plants for cover.

02. Feeding

Feed every other day using a mix of sinking frog pellets and frozen bloodworms. Avoid floating food — these frogs feed from the bottom.

03. Health

Do 20–30% water changes weekly using dechlorinated water. Keep ammonia and nitrites at zero. Watch for cloudy eyes, lethargy, or floating sideways.

04. Behavior

African dwarf frogs are social and active at night. Their ‘zen floating’ at the surface is normal unless paired with labored breathing.
